If the dentist has a DDS after his or her name that means they are a doctor of dental surgery. A DMD degree means that the dentist is a doctor of dental medicine. Most of the dentists in West Columbia are general practitioners. There are several others however that specialize as Orthodontists. These are the ones that straighten out crooked teeth by applying braces or retainers.
